Fried Chicken in the South Bay

tdo Nov 19, 2009 04:24 PM

Can anyone recommend a good place for fried chicken in the South Bay? Looking for good quality chicken (so not KFC) and not wings (no Furaibo or izakayas please). I want good Southern fried chicken that is not too greasy. Thanks!

Pann's. A bit inland but adjacent (where La Cienega, La Tijera and Centinela meet). Not greasy at all. Either eat it there or let it cool before you box it up, as condensation softens the lovely crunch otherwise. The pieces used to be gigantic - wing drumettes the size of regular drumsticks - but I've heard they're more normal these days. Still the best fried chicken I've had in LA County.

I like the fried chicken at Porky's BBQ. I go to the one in San Pedro but I believe there is another location in Inglewood

The Inglewood location moved to San Pedro. Really nice BBQ and sides to be had at Porky's, but for fried chicken Flossie's has them beat!

I've heard good things about Jim Dandy Fried Chicken but haven't had the chance to try them yet. Thanks for the reminder.

There is another Jim Dandy Fried Chicken on Manchester Ave at Western in Inglewood.

Not tried it yet but, on Sundays, Paul Martin's has a fried chicken dinner that is supposed to be good.

Did you get a chance to check out Flossie's? Or did you find any other good ones?
