Costco potatoes in recipies

I want to make a kugel tonight. I usually use the loose Idaho poatoes, not the tiny ones that are typically found in the 5 pound bags. I just bought potatoes at Costco, HUGE ones. If a recipie calls for, say, 6 potatoes, how many of the Costco sized potatoes should I use?

Just weighed a few of their potatoes, they come in at ~1/lb per potato. What size potatoes do recipies usually call for?

Wildly guessing, something like 1/2 a pound each. I'd use three giant potatoes. That said, it sounds like you make this kugel often, so when you get to the stage where there's a big mound of grated potatoes, see if it seems like the mound is the same size as usual, or bigger/smaller, and adjust as necessary.
