PLEASE Stop the Madness!

Why do replies/edits, etc. take forever-and-a-day to post? Because the site is "detecting and linking restaurants mentioned in the post."

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    1. I meet that GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH and raise it a WTF.

They keep on adding stuff few people want and taking away things that everybody likes (performance, thread participant listings and -- now it would seem -- digests). What a joke!

        1. re: carswell

The digests are still there, but now sort of impossible to find because there is no separate listing for them under the 'Blogs' menu (they seem to be grouped with 'Food Media'). This is seriously lame, a major detraction from their usefulness if one has to sift through all the random Chow stuff to find the particular digest one wants.

            1. re: Caitlin McGrath

Seriously. As lame and as useless as search is, it would still helpful to include digestes inthe drop down section.

                1. re: Caitlin McGrath

Digests aren't supposed to be grouped in food media -- that's a bug. There are separate links to them from the chow.com home page (below blog on the left column) but we intend to get them more prominently featured on the regional restaurant pages and the appropriate boards.

                    1. re: davina

Thanks for letting us know it's a bug. I liked having them listed in the drop-down menu so that it was easy to hop to them from any page, whether a Chowhound board, recipe page, or what have you. It was also handy to be able to hop from one blog category to another via the detailed legend that was on the upper right of the blog pages, and I hope that function will be returned.

                  • So overall site response/performance has gone completely down the drain (i.e. page hangs, links taking 20+ seconds, etc.) due to this new _linking feature_? Is CH trying to kill off its regulars again?

                      1. re: Steve Green

it is a culling procedure, perhaps.
