Breakfast Near Convention Center DC

We are in town for a conference and really don't want hotel food. Any recommendations for a quick & simple breakfast near the convention center? We are staying at the Washington Plaza and are looking for someplace between the hotel & convention center... or closer to the convention center.

Took the recommendation for Nando's Peri-Peri tonight based on reviews on this board. Good choice... the girls loved it.

Between your hotel and the restaurant is SOHO which is a pay by the pound concept which has a great deal of variety and a quick bite. They have steam tables, but you can also ask for a fresh cooked meal from the counter.

On NY Ave and 10th is Lawson's, next to the Starbucks. I like the breakfast burrito there. Service can be slow sometimes.

The reason you're not getting tons of reviews is the general absence of good breakfast spots in the area.

Might be a little late but I live around there. First Cup on the corner of 9th and M street is a great spot. I love it there, nothing fancy, but good food in a nice place. I am there several times a week.
