Romantic dinner, walking distance to Hyatt Downtown (Lafayette place)?
Heading into town for an overnight, and looking for a nice place to take the bride for a birthday dinner. We're staying at the Hyatt, so being able to walk to and fro would be a big plus. I'm thinking of Troquet (loved it last time, but looking for somewhere new). Any suggestions?

re: ced9
Ii wouldn't call marliave "romantic.." Maybe a nice spot to grab a cocktail and some oysters/apps at the bar.
The one time I went (on a Saturday night, peak time) the place was like a ghost town. I suppose some might view that as romantic, but imo Marliave and No. 9 are in different leagues.

You are within walking distance of a LOT of restaurants. Locke-Ober is very close, but you have the theater district, Beacon Hill, Newbury Street, Huntington Ave. I would go to Hamersley's Bistro - that's my fave, but the Weekly Dig just gave a rave review to Lucca Back Bay at 116 Huntington Ave.
