Kid-friendly 30th Bday Restaurant suggestions? (Chandler, AZ)

I'm trying to plan a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband and was looking for a fun kid-friendly restaurant in the Chandler area? I want something laid-back with American or Italian food (something I can get the kids to eat). Something with a firepit would be great too. I like the idea of Greasewood Flats but down in the East Valley area.

Thanks!

  1. Joes Farm Grill is not quite Chandler, but its pretty close (Ray and Greenfield). They have good basic American food and lots of outside tables with room for the kids to run and play. We were there last Friday and there was a large family group celebrating a birthday. I don't think there is a firepit though...

Also, its 3 mins from San Tan Village, so afterwards you could all head over there and the adults could sit around and chat while the kids enjoyed that play area as well.

    1. Whta's your budget?

There aren't places like Greasewood Flats down on this end of the Valley. Joe's Farm Grill or Joe's BBQ could be good options but don't serve alcohol if that's important to you.

Another option if you do a Sat or Sun afternoon might be the Farm at South Mountain....really nice to sit under the pecan grove and the food from the Kitchen is tasty. Not sure if there are rules against taking alcohol up there however. The Kitchen is closed at night. Quiessence has a nice patio and a fire pit however it may be a budget buster.

Patsy Grimaldi's has great pizza (but no pasta) and they have great beers on tap/wine list. If you have a very large party, I believe they have a section they can close off.

Actually, there's a place called San Tan Flats in Queen Creek that's a similar concept. Reasonable food--nothing particularly great--but lots of fun atmosphere, firepits for each table where you can roast marshmallows, a big dance stage and plenty of room for the kids to play. http://www.santanflat.com/

        2. Gilbert Pizza (Warner/Gilbert)
Great pizza and very good Italian too. Kids are plentiful.
