Restaurant/food records with no address

With so many new food providers that operate in no specific venue - as documented on Chow at http://www.chow.com/blog/2009/05/nyc-and-portland-nonstaurants among other places - the database needs to include businesses that lack an address.

Before the redesign, such records could be entered. Two examples are http://www.chow.com/restaurants/32701/luxsugar and http://www.chow.com/restaurants/32709...

Now, however, the site doesn't allow this. If you try, you get an error message: "address fields needs to include address, city and state. Try to be more precise or check the spelling."

This came up deep in some other thread that I can't find at the moment. But there's been no acknowledgment of a problem and no change in the site, so I'm wondering if anyone with Chow agrees that this needs to be fixed.

    1. You can get around that by adding a dummy street address when you add the record and then editing out the address. You at least need a country. Here's my junk test place

It narrows the map depending on how much info you give it. It comes up with some geographic center.

USA - gegraphic center of the country
State - Geographic center of the state
City - Geograpic center of the country
zip - Geographic center for that zip code

Don't know how accurate the center is ... is the area near-ish Witchita, Kansas the center of the US? Anyway it picks some spot

Good idea, thanks. Come to think of it, I did enter a place-less food provider by "repurposing" a dupe record, so that sounds like the way to go.
