Good Eats before a Celtics Game

We are heading to the Cetlics game tonight and looking for some good food within walking distance of the garden, won't get into Boston until about 5:45 and the game is at 7:30, so we don't have a lot of time. We are happy with some good burgers and fries or a good salad! Any suggestions? Or is there another post somewhere on here i didn't find?

The Fours on Canal almost across from the Garden is a good choice. A Boston institution of sorts as a sports bar that actual athletes and management use.

Second The Fours. They have exactly what you're looking for.

You probably won't have time to eat at the Fours. This place can get very crowded and at that time will have a good 45-60 min wait. Porters is nearby, food is decent and rarely has a wait.

Seconding the comment on Porters, good choice as well, on Portland St.

Johnnie's on the Side is near the Garden as well but away from a lot of the craziness. Has more "upscale" pub food

I've eaten at The Grotto before a celtics game, had a good meal and it's walking distance

Last week, I ate at the Grand Canal on Canal Street. It wasn't too busy since its at the other end of Canal Street. I had their fisherman's platter, which was really good. But I regretted not getting the shepherd's pie, which a lot of people around me ordered and looked oh so delicious!
