Wedding Gift for Good Friends

dotybird Nov 17, 2009 11:47 AM

A couple friends of mine got married this summer, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out west for the big day.

I am looking for suggestions for a fun food-related wedding gift. I have never been to Seattle and don't know what it has to offer in terms of restaurant gift certificates, food/wines classes, etc... If they lived in New York, for example, I might want to get them a certificate for a cheese/wine or beer pairing class at Murray's.

I am wide open to suggestions.

Great idea. There is a weath of things you could give them in various catogories and price ranges.

Couple of different tours - depending on interest. Most are around Pike Place Market.

    Very Expensive:
Herbfarm - not as good as it was, but still an experience http://www.herbfarm.com/dining/
Canlis - can book the private room http://www.canlis.com/dining/ a wonderful experience. They will bill you.

    Rovers (French). Classic Seattle http://www.rovers-seattle.com/information/index.html
Corson Building: Family style dining experience http://thecorsonbuilding.com/menu.php
    Kappo: Full Omakasa http://chisoseattle.com/kappo/menu.htm

    Less Expensive:
Any of the Tom Douglas resturants -
Steelhead Diner: Might do gift certificates http://www.steelheaddiner.com/about.htm

    Cooking classes
Bon Vivant - a classic cooking school http://www.bon-vivant.com/
    Beecher's Cheese offers classes http://www.beechershandmadecheese.com...

Maybe tickets to a Seattle Food tour? Dinner at Art of the Table? Dinner for two at Rovers? 4 course Dinner at Crush? Tickets to a Tom Douglas Food Event?
