Onion Seeds?
Does anyone know where I can buy onion seeds? I'm looking to make a chicken and rice dish that calls for them, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks!

Do you mean so called "black onion seeds" -- charnushka or nigella (and lots of other names)? Penzey's certainly carries it, but you could potentially get it for less from an Indian market (and probably Arax would have it but don't know offhand) -- its pretty easy to get. If you don't mean that, no idea.

Yup, that would be it. Maybe I'll try to get to Penzey's later today. Whole Foods didn't seem to have it, and none of the other markets I tried did, either. Thanks!

I've gotten Nigella seeds at Christina's before if that's more convenient. Call ahead.

Thanks! I probably won't need them until Friday, so I'll try to hit one or the other before then.

Indian stores definitely have them- sometimes also called 'kalonji'. When I was a kid we used them a lot (under the name tshernishke), but we had no idea that they were the same thing as nigella/kalonji- so we thought they were super hard to find, and got them shipped to us covertly from Poland :)
