Late-night dining in Monte Carlo

Looking ahead to a March 2010 night at the opera in Monte Carlo, I was wondering what our post-theater dining options would be. I imagine that the show will end at around 10:30 or 11 o'clock, depending on whether they do it with one or two intermissions. I'd just as soon avoid the Cafe de Paris, however convenient it may be. Thanks.

    1. I suggest you try some internet research - this may help: http://www.restaurants-montecarlo.com

        1. As a regular opera and concert goer in Monaco I will certainly be interested in any satisfactory solution you find. It is just as hard to eat beforehand, except for the CdP, as nothing is open yet.

            1. Many bars with more casual food are open till the wee hours; Quai des Artistes is a nice bistro that will take you in if you arrive before 11:30;
              Zebra Square, near the Grimaldi Forum, goes after midnight.
              and there's always Stars n' Bars, serves into the night, and a place where lots of famous folks go.

              Ironically, I had this same problem when we went to La Scala in Milan. Wonder how the locals handle this issue!

                  Thanks, all. And yes, menton1, post-opera dining is difficult almost anywhere, isn't it? The Scala now has a little caffe/restaurant attached to it (operated by Marchesi) that serves a curtailed menu after the show; we've been to Savini, where the service and ambience are dire but where they do a surprisingly good job on the food. London is no problem, oddly. In Paris, there's Le Petit Riche. And on our home turf of NYC, we just get into a cab and go down to places like The Spotted Pig or one of the Momofukus.
