Bar Tools in Boston

Velda Mae Nov 17, 2009 03:44 AM

I want to buy bar tools (shaker, strainer, etc.) and would prefer some that are a bit unusual to the ones available at Crate & Barrel, Williams-Sonoma, etc. Are there shops in the Boston area that I should check out? I prefer to buy in-person rather than mail order. I checked Didrik's on Huron Ave. in Cambridge but they don't have any in stock. I don't need glassware, just the tools.

Check out The Boston Shaker, currently located inside Grand the Store on Somerville Ave near Union Square, but shortly moving to its own digs at 69 Holland Street in Davis Square. I've also collected a lot of vintage barware on eBay over the years.

You might want to call Grand before making the trip, as I thought that the "lease" on the Grand space was up on November 1. So until the Davis Sq. location opens I believe one can only order stuff on the website: http://www.thebostonshaker.com

Strongly seconded, as soon as the Davis Square location is up and running. High quality at excellent prices.
