Where can I find some wonderful tumblers/whiskey sour glasses?

I've looked at Pier 1 and Pottery Barn. Nothing bowled me over. Something beautiful but not so expensive that I'll cry when I break one.

    1. To me, the term "tumbler" and "whiskey sour" glass are two different things.
A tumbler is about 8 to 12 ounces, like an old-fashioned glass or small juice glass, (see Delmonico,) while a whiskey sour glass is stemmed, taller that it is wide, and about 4 ounces (see Sour Glass.)

Perhaps you have a Crate & Barrel store in your neighborhood.
This is a (8 ounce!) glass that might serve to function in the capacity you suggest....

right, a sours glass is like a champagne flute that got cut in half.

          • have you tried World Market?
They have a pretty good selection of glasses

I found a bunch of good bar glasses there, but they all went belly up here (Ohio). Consignment shops will often have some interesting choices.

Antique malls often have interesting tumblers amidst all the Flintstones jelly jars, usually at popular prices.

                  2. tj maxx has a LOT of glasses that would fit the bill -- italian.

                      1. Have you looked at Crate and Barrel? I like their glassware a lot, and they have items in a range of prices. Some of my faves are very reasonably priced.

                          1. I found some absolutely lovely snifters at my local Goodwill, believe it or not.

Have you checked thrift stores? Do you have an Ikea nearby? I like Crate and Barrel as well but you should check out their less-pricey sister store:

                              1. Have a look at ebay. I've purchased various blocks of vintage glassware there which end up being both much more interesting than stuff I saw at stores as well as almost always being a heck of a lot cheaper.d

i think tjmaxx's italian glassware sets are very cheap, considering the quality.

i have to second the promo for goodwill, too. you won't get "sets," but you'll get some interesting shapes.
