Need Help Picking a dinner for Friday night Palm Beach to Miami????????

  • 3

First of I had dinner reservation at Neomi in the Trump Plaza in Sunny Isles, for the test kitchen. I called this afternoon to check on the dress code for the restaurant. After getting the answer I asked, even for the test kitchen, o which they responded, we have not done that for months. Needless to say I was upset. If I would not have called, I would have never known. I made these reservations back in September. Oh well!!!!!
I am looking for a replacement for my birthday dinner this Friday. We are staying at the Boca Resort and Club. I am aware of the great dinning options there, but wanted to try something new. What are some of the hard core foodie dinning spots. I want one of the best meals of my life. Something fabulous. Thanks in advance

  1. The Paradigm dinners at the Trump are on indefinite hiatus, but you may find the chefs doing things out and about town out of the restaurant.

Up north I think the place most likely to meet that bar would be Cafe Boulud. If you're willing to come down to Miami, Michael's Genuine and Michy's are still at the top of their game; though none of these places works with contemporary techniques in the same way as the Paradigm dinners.

I'm going to guess that these are still on hiatus? Is there anything else that uses more contemporary techniques going on locally?

    2. There are a lot of options if you don't want to stay in the resort but also don't want to travel too far. For beautiful ambiance, one of the prettiest places I have been is The Addison. You are also close to Chops Lobster Bar and Three Forks. Zed 451 is at Mizner and is themed like an upscale Brazilian Steakhouse (but not Brazilian) where they bring the meat to your table and the Harvest Table is amazing. For stone crab, there is Jake's but it is definitely not Joe's in Miami. If you want to drive down the coast a little I have heard Todd English's Da Campo Osteria in the Il Lugano Hotel in Fort Lauderdale is great. We have not been there yet. Good luck and Happy Birthday!
