Sara Lee butter & pecan coffee cake - Is it discontinued?

OK, I make most of the desserts and baked goods served at our house from scratch. DD like Sara Lee butter & pecan coffee cake, we don't have it but maybe 1-2 times annually. She will be home next week from college for the holiday and requested one for brunch. BTW, this was a staple of my childhood Sunday brunches along with bagels, schmear and nova. I have searched several local grocery stores in central Ohio (Kroger, Giant Eagle, Meijer) and can't find it. The grocery clerks seem unable to answer me if it is even made any longer. Surely one of my CH friends must know what happened?

  1. Nooo! I haven't seen it lately either. That cake is so good that one time I accidentally nuked it with some of the plastic wrap still on it. The wrap melted into the cake. I could remove all but a little bit of plastic. You know what I did right? Yup, ate the part with the plastic too. I wasn't proud but I could not resist.

    1. My wife is missing Entemann's "Pineapple Crunch Cake" (not the Lousiana one, they have that everywhere). Used to be able to get it here in Toronto, haven't seen it in a few years.

      1. I've also been looking for it for the past year or 2 but poofffffff it's gone.

        1. I checked the Sara Lee website and it is still being produced maybe your grocery store will order it for you. Good Luck Juli

          1. I also used to love this coffee cake, but I haven't had it in years. Out of curiosity, I just went to their web site and they actually had a recipe for French Toast using the coffee cake as the bread. Talk about overkill!
