A bit of wisdom I was told a long time ago was to stick to the stuff listed as their specials on the front of the menu. that wisdom has served me well over the years.
Traditional answers to questions like this include the suan la chow show, dun dun noodles (I prefer sans chicken) and a handful of other things.

MC is not the place to go in Central Square if you want spicy. Go 2 blocks East to the Sichuan restaurant inside Thailand Cafe.

I am surely misremembering but I thought you dinged the sichuan there ... either here and/or on yelp?

Nope... I did say that it's not in the same league as Sichuan Gourmet or Gardens (one-dimensional, salt-dominated seasoning) but it's still pretty darn good, and they'll actually make you some Sichuan food, unlike MC which is kind of its own genre.

I had Mary's suans and dun dun noodles last week. They were good as ever.

certainly the dan dan and th suan la chow show... the stringbeans and pork (i think) is great too as is the dim sum selections (sat and sun only) which includes the best scallion pancake around
