HELP ASAP!!! -- Need Dwontown / SoMa / Financial District Recs for Tonight!

So, all of my stand-bys are not working out. I need a moderately / moderately expensive (ie. apps in the $9 - $14 range, mains in the $21 - $29 range) priced good restaurant for dinner tonight.

Restaurants that, for one reason or another, don't seem to be working out (reservation issues) include:
Kokkari
Fringale
bacar
Coco500
Perbacco
Piperade
Slanted Door

Town Hall used to be fantastic but I felt it slipped years ago, has it come back? Salt House?

And why is 54 Mint's line still busy?!?!?!?!

I've had a few good meals at Town Hall lately, so I'd recommend that, if they have availability. Is Ame too expensive? What about Bix?

Yeah, Ame is just a little north of what we'd ideally spend... Good to hear about TH.

I'm not sure what you meant by reservation issues, but some of those places show lots of tables on opentable.

I needed a very specific time. 6:45 or 7:00... East Coast guest who will be arriving in SFO at 5:40 and will be starving. But thanks for checking.

I was just curious because most places aren't anywhere near full on Mondays.

Bacar shows tables at 7. Also, if you haven't phoned around, you should. Few places put all their tables on opentable.

What about Zinnia? It is pretty good and in your price point. I like Salt House more than Town Hall. Also Local could do in a pinch. It is good enough. While the food at Orson is hit and miss, I really do like their burger.

Have you been to Town Hall since Vernon Morales took over? I think it's worth checking out to see what he's doing there.

Thanks, everyone. I wound up with reservations at bacar and 54 Mint. Unfortunately, the plane was delayed, so we wound up at Piperade at 7:30. Always a pleasure there.
