Remember that NY Eve is usually a time for restaurants to overcharge and get lax about their food. It's called opportunism.
NJ is a large area, did you have a particular region of NJ in mind?
Simce Morristown was mentioned, here's a special party for NY Eve at the Palm:
Here's another blurb from Michael Anthony's, right on the Hudson in Jersey City:
"Join us for an enchanting evening on the Hudson River with amazing views, exquisite cuisine, and a beautiful crowd in a party package that can’t be beat!
The celebration begins at 8pm with our 5 hour premium top shelf open bar to quench your thirst, and some passed hors d’oeuvres to tantalize your taste buds. A lavish hot and cold buffet with carving station will be available to fill your appetite prepared by our 4 star chef (rated by the NY Times)
Music will consist of a variety of all genres from dance, pop, rock, hip-hop, freestyle and disco to get you moving! In addition to our multiple live dj’s, we will show the “2010 Ball Drop on our multiple large screen High definition plasma televisions as well as 2 20’foot projection screens.
We also boast magnificent views of the New York City skyline and weather permitting will have front row seat to the spectacular New Years Fireworks Display.
The above all inclusive package is only $125 per ticket. General admissionwill be available after 1am as well. Dress attire is “New Years wear”Gentlemen, jackets and blazers are not required but encouraged."
I would recommend Copeland Restaurant in Morristown for New Years Eve. They are offering a great deal for dinner-6 course menu, champagne toast, and live music. They are named Best Cocktails in North Jersey. But, the best part is that they are in The Westin Hotel. Have a great time and take the elevator to your room.
