Any Swedish restaurants in Montreal?
Aside from the cafe at Ikea, does anyone know of an accessible Swedish restaurant in Montreal?
Thanks in advance!

If one exists, I've never heard of it, despite knowing several Swedes. The number of Scandiavians in Montreal is tiny and growing tinier. Det är synd, as they say.

Haha, when I saw the title of the thread I wanted to reply, IKEA! Alas, it isn't exactly secret.

Italian + Swiss = Swedish?????

The original poster is asking for a Swedish restaurant. I think folks are just wondering how the Italian swiss fondue place fits into that request. ;-)

sounds like a misunderstanding between Switzerland and Sweden.

Well, they're pretty peaceful countries. They'll probably work it out. ;-)

Thank you for all your replies so far (and the very amusing tangent!!) I was optimistic but it looks like I was be preparing a Swedish feast at home!
Perhaps I will hijack my own thread and ask whether anyone knows if the SAQs stocks akvavit (aqua vitae) at all?

The SAQ doesn't currently stock aquavit/akvavit, though they have in the past. The LCBO recently received a shipment of Aalborg Jubilaeums Akvavit from Denmark.

Thank you carswell, that is a *huge* help!

Gotta snatch it up fast though ... I got a bottle from the Rideau LCBO in Ottawa before it hit the shelves about a month ago. All Scandinavians buy it en masse for the holidays ...
If failing to find akvavit, I have successfully made a good alternative by toasting fennel and caraway seeds to infuse vodka.
