Anyone know if that food distributor in Woburn -

Dole & Bailey
16 Corn Street
Woburn, Massachusetts 01801

- does cash and carry business for regular retail-ish people like myself?

I have an account with them; and I'm fairly certain that you have to have an account to buy from them. What were you looking for?

In the past they may have, but when I contacted them a year ago about some specialty items they were only willing to do business with organizations which opened an account with them. Sometimes you can get a different response in person rather than over the phone, but in my case I pursued other avenues.

I've been told that they do.

That was what I had been told and the person who told me personally picked up items in person previously. I tried to confirm in advance stock and place the order to make it easier for both parties, but the sales rep vehemently stated they would not sell on a cash and carry basis (to a business w/EIN, but no resale certificate) only if I did the paperwork to open an account. The rep was pretty clueless on several levels, but it was pretty clear that any discussion with her wouldn't help my case so I punted. As I said, its possible one could get a different response in person with a clear idea of what you want and cash in hand.
