Truffle oil pricing

If truffle oils are just olive oil inoculated with thioether, why is there a difference in price of white and black "truffle" oils?

Maybe because white truffles are 10x more expensive then black truffles?

Correct... but in the making of almost all truffle oils no truffles are used, however truffle oil pricing is such that it reflects the difference in pricing of the actual mushrooms. Thus the basis of my question.
