PHX - Best Coffee Roaster?

Hi All,

Looking for a really great coffee roaster in phoenix area to buy some beans...something substantially better than the beans you find in the supermarkets everywhere in town...starbucks, peet's, allegro, etc.
Does one exist? Seems like all the places I've found on the net have closed recently or don't sound that hot.

Thanks!

    See this list:

Cartel and Lux are the ones I am most familiar with. Both are still open and quite popular among local coffee aficionados.

Here's a longer list from Arizona Coffee:

I like Arizona Coffee Roasters/Passport Coffee. They are in the Scottsdale Airpark, just east of Scottsdale and Thunderbird. They import beans from around the world and roast to order; so call in your order and give them an hour or two and when you pick it up, it's still warm.
