maria, I have minimal experience in Newport, but sure loved the cioppino at Shark's. There's more if you search this board.

Local Ocean has great fresh seafood (the pan fried oysters are fabulous) and reasonable prices. http://www.localocean.net/
And it appears to be just down the block from Sada's.

I think the standards bearer for Japanese around that area is Yuzen 10 miles south in Seal Rock. Decent quality overall at fairly good prices.

Local Ocean is by far the best seafood in Newport. It's informal, usually crowded, somewhat noisy and reasonably priced.
