Looking for suggestions for cake, pie, cupcakes - with good tea. Not afternoon tea per say. Just yummy treats and a cup of teas to relax after shopping. Somewhat mid to lower

Chikalicious' satellite Dessert Club has a delectible assortment of sweet treats. They do serve tea, but I'm not a tea drinker, so I have no idea how good it is. Mainly a take-out place, but there are a few tables.

Whenver we go to the flagship Chikalicious, we always stop into the Dessert Club across the street to bring home some goodies.

How was the Smores cupcake? It sounds good, but you know that goes...

I think it may have been new because we'd never seen it there before. It was delicious! In fact, all of the cupcakes are. Excellent cake quality, super-smooth icing, and not excessively sweet.

Yum! Was the cupcake a graham cracker flavor? It kinda looked like it.

It has been several months, so I don't recall the flavor of the cake. I suppose a graham cracker flavor would make sense. But in any case, what does stick in my memory is the deliciousness of the marshmallow (or maybe it was meringue?) topping and the chocolate cream inside. Finding that chocolate hidden inside was a wonderful surprise.

Yes, graham cracker makes sense. I love marshmallow, so I will have to try it if I can. I love cupcakes, but don't seek them out for the most part. I hate icing, so marshmallow makes me extra happy.

Yes, they have a few tables. I just did my taste test of the red velvet cupcakes between Chikalicious Dessert Bar and Two Little Red Hens, and my winner is: Chikalicious. Somewhat disappointing (but better for my diet) since I live around the corner from Two Little Red Hens.

Never had their cupcakes but did order a whole cake for Chritmas and it was great, we all loved it.

Directly across from Dessert Club, Amy.

Regarding the s'mores cupcake - I wrote of it in my blog "actually one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. Featuring a gingery and moist cake beyond reproach, dense chocolate ganache, and a topping that tasted (and had the texture) of burnt marshmallows with a woody tone and all – excellent. Definitely enough reason to go back and try some other specialty cupcakes in the future, or to sample the real-deal Chickalicious across the street."
