Where to buy venison/exotic meat sausage/salami in north suburbs

I'm looking to buy some sausage/salami (not really sure what it should be called) to make appetizer plates for thanksgiving. I'm looking for venison/wild game/good quality cold cut meat anywhere in the northern Illinois area. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

    1. Zier's in Wilmette is my go-to place for the very best quality meats in the Chicago area. They smoke and age meats themselves. I've gotten everything from top restaurant quality prime rib to smoked meats and sausages there, and it's all been superb. I've never asked them about game but their website ( www.ziersprime.com ) says that they "also offer an extensive line of wild game and American Wagyu KOBE beef". Feel free to phone ahead with any questions, as lots of folks phone in orders (even when it's not Thanksgiving). Highly recommended.

I was in Zier's earlier today. Most of their game is frozen. In addition to the American Wagyu beef, they had buffalo, bison, rabbit, venison, elk, and quail. The only game sausage they had were buffalo hot dogs. If you're interested in more unusual sausage offerings from non-game meats, they also have their "merguez" sausage, which is made from lamb and is seasoned with Tunisian spices.
