The Stand in Encino used to have a great one, with egg, sausage and hash browns, but I think they may no longer be open for breakfast. If it's still on the menu, I would definitely recommend it.

The York on York in Highland Park does an egg sandwich on a flaky, buttery croissant with bacon, over medium egg, arugula, tomato, and white cheddar.
It is FANTASTIC.
Sunday only from 10:30am to around 2:30pm.

My favorite breakfast sandwich is the plain old BLT at Beep's in Van Nuys.....crispy bacon, fresh crisp lettuce, ripe tomato with mayonnaise on toasted sourdough. Deeelightful.

Mustard Seed Cafe on Hillhurst. Blows away every other one I've had. Good, thick bacon; avocado (a key element missing from most versions); and an herb mayo set this one apart. Served on an oversized English muffin.

Joan's on Third does a great New York style breakfast sandwich. Nicely grilled with egg, bacon and Monterey Jack.

Clementine in West LA is by far the best I've ever had. Fred 62 in Los Feliz is good too. I like Joan's on Third for many things but their breakfast sandwich is not one of them. Ditto for Breadbar.
