Soft ice cream recommendations?

Hi all- does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get soft ice cream? No tasty delight or frozen yogurt or anything like that, just plain, good soft ice cream... preferably available in a chocolate/vanilla swirl... thanks in advance!

Chikalicious is great. Shake Shack (well, it's custard, but still) is my favorite soft serve. Momofuku Milk Bar is very good, but you have to be willing to forego the chocolate/vanilla.

Ok, caveat is that this is not entirely just "plain ice cream" However, if anything, it tastes even better-thick and creamy: Kyotofu, with rotating flavors, has soft serve ice cream made with soy milk in a variety of flavors. Sometimes a take-off of vanilla and chocolate, other times flavors like lemon custard. SO good! (And trust me, no weird aftertaste of soy....)

You mean soft serve? I'd go to Chikalicious Dessert Club. Their vanilla soft serve is real ice cream and delicious.
