Coming from Toronto to visit NY for the first time....

This is my first time coming to NY and want to have the quintessential NY dining experience without falling for tourists traps.

Staying at the Red Roof Inn Manhattan
6 West 32nd Street
New York, NY 10001

Where and what should I do??
Open to all kinds of food.

I am assuming I shouldn't leave without having a slice of pizza...
A NY hot dog
And Deli

So what are your suggestions and what else should be considering for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Thanks from Toronto!

Don't Leave NY Without Eating... (most of these are budget friendly BTW

Best pizza in NY -- NYC has Neopolitan style and coal oven NY-Neopolitan style and gas overn NY style

Best street food -- assuming you're OK with street food -- after all, it will be pretty fast and allow you to maximize sightseeing and shopping:

    NYC for visitors:

I highly recommend RGR's self guided Lower East Side Gustatory tour:

    Best brunch:

Best of the Union Square Greenmarket
    M, W, F, S, 8am-6pm, but earlier is better, Saturdays are biggest

    Best foodie shopping:

    Best chocolate:

    Union Square Greenmarket
Broadway and E 17th St, New York, NY 10003

    Union Square Cafe
21 East 16th St., New York, NY 10003

Toronto has a ton of Korean restaurants, and not particularly a New York experience.
