Lenhardt's - Cincinnati - any good?

Recently ran across this location near the UC campus. Years ago, my Hungarian parents used to take us here when we visited friends in Cincy. Place has been in business forever - is it worth a visit or like "You Can't Go Home Again" disappointing? Did see that schnitzel is only served first weekend of the month and pork at that (I don't eat pork, want veal schnitzel). Is the goulash or paprikash any good? Thanks!

I've eaten there only once, several years ago for one of those pre-ordered group lunches. I wasn't impressed, but that's not usually a fair way to assess a restaurant. If memory serves me right, recently on Yelp (www.yelp.com) I read a scathingly bad review. You could go to Yelp and search if you're interested. A slightly better, although not great, option for Hungarian food in the area is Laszlo's Iron Skillet in Newtown. See www.laszlosironskillet.com.

Thanks for the suggestion. Laszlo's seems to be the same issue - pork goulash and schnitzel and I don't eat pork. DD attends UC and Lenhardt's is right on campus, will think about making the hike to Iron Skillet. Appreciate your thought. Columbus (where I live) has no German/Hungarian restos, but I fear it will be "You Can't Go Home Again" ; nothing will compare to my Mom or Grandma's cooking and it will leave a bad taste in my mouth.
