Help wanted: food editor for chow.com

Robert Lauriston Nov 12, 2009 12:49 PM

"The food editor for CHOW.com will make us laugh. He or she will manage a kitchen, lead a team, and want to perform in front of the camera but not clown around. The food editor will, above all, convey information clearly and directly. He or she will think creatively about food and online media and techniques. ..."

<"Will love to eat and love to learn about food, yet will be skeptical about the old ways of doing things.">

"...will be skeptical aboout the old ways of doing things." (????)

And contribute to the decline and fall taking place throughout world in terms of artisanship, and food made by hand as it has been made for generations.

This has Got to be a hoax.

            It's on CHOW's Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/CHOW_com so I think it's legit.

            >Will love to eat and love to learn about food, yet will be skeptical about the old ways of doing things.

I agree that Ruth Reichl would be great for this kind of job. But I suspect that departing from the "old ways of doing things" means paying waaay less than people of her level of expertise and knowledge are accustomed to being paid. So unless someone of Ruth Reichl's stature is willing to take a deep pay cut to be on 3-inch-wide Chow videos, I'd say they're likely to choose a far cheaper, far less qualified and knowledgeable candidate.

Sounds like a "decadent" and "yummy" opportunity for the right person. LOL! ;)

You would be good for this position. You must move to SF! I suspect it is a hoax. Does everyone advertise on Craig's List nowadays?

In SF, yeah, everyone uses Craigslist.

It's not a hoax, the listing is on http://www.cbsinteractive.com/jobs.php as well.
