Telleggio Cheese Please

I can't find telleggio cheese here in Fort Lauderdale, what cheese would be a good substitute?

  1. I suggest you can use any fragrant washed rind cheese -perhaps a mildish Livarot - but what exact;ly do you plan to use it for?

    1. I recently had the same problem-- our local place would only sell me talleggio by the half pound (!). I'm surprised FL doesn't have a Whole Foods? We're in Tally and don't have one either. Expensive, but good for cheeses. At any rate, I subbed with Chaumes which I got at the Publix. It worked fine, but I was using it in a warm pasta dish. What are you using it for?

      1. Have you tried The Cheese Course in Weston? I would bet that they carry Taleggio and, if not, could recommend another washed rind cheese that they sell.

        1. You can definitely go online to find it. I personally really love the Red Hawk from Cowgirl Creamery in Northern Cal. That may be a fine sub.
