Ad Hoc Substitutions - Any Experience?

Has anyone had experience asking for substitutions at Ad Hoc? We have reservations tomorrow night and one member of our party has some allergies (including shellfish). Today's menu includes a shrimp salad. If we were eating there tonight, could we ask for a different salad for one diner? Thanks!

I have celiac and they sub gluten-free options well. Somtimes I wish i could have the other option at the table, but it isn't because they don't try. Do note the allergy on your reservation so they can be prepared. They do look at that.

One of my party didn't eat beef, and they substituted a nice piece of salmon for her on the spot, no problem. I was jealous, because our beef was overcooked and unappetizing.

Funny, we had the same experience. The night I went with my aunt the entree was scallops. They made her a lovely piece of fish that was much better than our scallops and pork belly.
