Berry Pie

I am making a berry pie this weekend. It calls for a combination of fresh berries: raspberries, blueberries, blackberries etc. I want to use frozen berries in place of fresh. Do you think I should thaw before baking? Any other adjustments needed? Thanks for any help you can provide!

  1. I'd partially bake (blind bake) the bottom crust for a few minutes so that it doesn't get soggy. I see no need to thaw the berries before but make sure you toss enough thickerner (flour, cornstarch, tapioca, etc) with the berries so that you don't have a runny pie. Good luck

    1. If you do that you can gauge the height of the filling easier. Consider a summer pudding as well, although that is better in warm weather.
