Butter

I have a question...I don't hear anyone talking about Butter as a great Manhattan restaurant. I'm coming to Manhattan soon and wondered about it's reputation. I like how chef Alex Guarnaschelli talks about food but does it transfer to the plate? Thanks.

Food is marginal. Nothing to write home about, and certainly nothing to plan a trip around

Butter used to be a hot scene,,, the menu is actually real good, the food is good not great.

No one is talking about Butter as a great Manhattan restaurant precisely because it is not and never was a great Manhattan restaurant.. It was always more of a scene, with an associated lounge.
