I saw the regular Maldon salt at at Alex Farm on the Danforth on Saturday - I assume the other Alex Farm locations probably carry it as well.

I bought my last two boxes (smoked and not) at Loblaws. I have also seen it in the basement stalls at STL market, among other places.

I am hooked on Maldon Salt. The price varies. William Sonoma sells it for around $15.00. The last time I purchased it was at Highlands Farms-Dufferin/ Finch location. I think it was around $10. I use it for ''finishing" a dish because it is expensive and can go quickly if you use it in cooking a dish.
Costco has never carried it to my knowledge. I have purchased a couple of different salts in Costco and they did not compare to Maldon!

I saw it at Loblaws at Dundas / Scarlett on Tuesday, in the spice aisle, on one of the lower shelves, next to the President Choice pink sea salt.

I've always seen it in Pusateri's on Avenue Road-not in the baking section, but where they hold their collection of spices. I've also seen it a Whole Foods Market.

                  hi all,

okay - i will make a special trip to the neighbourhood loblaws and metro ... i generally avoid those stores like the plague (i prefer longos).

                  thanks for the tips!

Does your Longo's not sell it?

I am pretty sure the newer Longo's have Maldon and a wide variety of other salts (they are on display in large glass containers, but there are smaller plastic container versions of them to actually buy).

I think they sell Maldon salt at Costco too but don't quote me on that one.

I haven't seen it at Costco; they have Gros sel Guerande, which is a good light crystal substitute, around $6.per kg.
Boodah, I have looked for Maldon at the two east Toronto locations of Highland Farms but they haven't had it for 2 years. I guess I'll have to go to Longo's parking adventure on Leslie.

Maldon salt is also available at Bruno's Meats in Pickering, Kingston Rd. and Rougemount. This salt is great as a finishing salt to up the presentation level a notch.

I agree with the Gros sel Guerande that is available at Costco; great flavour for the price and my everyday salt.

Thanks Dflip. I got it at Bruno's, 250g for $10.

I am pretty sure Bruno's in Pickering is independent. But Bruno's, the chain, may well have it.
Anyway, thanks for bringing this up. I saw Maldon for months on end at Highland Farms, $7. a box, on the meat counter. Then they didn't have it, and I regretted not buying!

oy! you're right! totally didn't catch 'bruno's meats' vs. 'bruno's'. oh well ... i'll give bruno's a try and see if i have any luck...

otherwise, the next closest place is the cheese boutique...

I believe Scheffler's in the St Lawrence Market carries it. I think I also saw it at the bulk store at the back of the basement in the SLM, but they didn't have it the last time I looked.

Cheese Boutique has it but, if you can get there, the Highland Farms in Mississauga generally has it in stock at a lower price.

Readibly available at most Loblaws, Sobeys & Metro. You should not have trouble finind Maldon!

I'm pretty sure I've tried finding it at Metro and Sobeys - but I always seem to have to go to Whole Foods to get it.
I use it as my everyday salt - I'm addicted!
