I love this:

"Origin
The original "de Brignac" name was registered by the Cattier family in "the late 1940s or early 50s", according to Jean-Jacques Cattier. It was chosen at that time by his mother, who had been reading a novel featuring a character named de Brignac. In naming the new Champagne, Cattier states those involved "came up with Armand, it sounded kind of noble".

    1. why not ?

It can happen that something "bling-ish" taste good in one competition.

        1. You know, I must have missed this, but then I seldom rely on a rapper for my wine reviews. Maybe I'm just not on his Twitter-list?

Maybe I need to consult with Snoop Doggie (or whatever his name is) for my next purchase. Or, maybe not.

            1. 1) Never rely on supposed competitions where they don't even tell you the names of the judges.

              1) Come back to me when it beats a *good* Champagne! (On-vintage Bollinger VV, Krug, Krug CdM, Krug BdN, Salon, Billecart Grand Cuvee, Billecart Elisabeth, Billecart Blancs de Blanc, Philloponat Clos de Goisses, Pol Roger Winston Churchill -- ON VINTAGE... etc) ;-)
