Mississauga / Streetsville restaurant gift certificate

I am looking to get a $100 gift certificate for Christmas. I am looking for recommendations on which restaurant to get from. I am looking at the Mississauga / Streetsville area because that's where the recipients live.

Recipients are in the late 20's. One is a real foodie. I am looking for restaurants that is within the $100 range for two (app, main, dessert), before tax, tip, wine. I was thinking of Saucy but I haven't been there in 4 years.

i was disappointed at Saucy this past summer. It was a very ordinary experience at elevated prices. Rogues and Michael's seem well past their former highs.

South from Streetsville in Clarkson, right across the street from Michael's, is a little treasure, the chef-owned Bistro Matisse that never fails to always impress us with well-executed French culinary standards. They will dine exceedingly well there for $100.

For Streetsville I like Cagney's. It's certainly not "fine dining" but it's really good. Excellent prime rib, in particular.

saucy was up for sale and the chef from when you were there-thorntin-now owns his own place in erin, ontario. but it is the best of the bunch if it is still operating in the area with the rocky the owner when thorntin was there
