Is there any place in Fairfield County or Port Chester where I can get them?

I'm assuming you're talking about stuffed masa wrapped up in a banana leaf?
In Venezuela, they're called hallacas and made around Christmas. Diners, Drive-In, and Dives went to a Venezuelan place called Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk. (www.valencialuncheria.com). The food looked great and the chef/owner looks like the kind of guy who well might make those Christmas hallacas.

It's similar, but made with plantains instead of corn (Puerto Rican style). I may have to just suck it up and make them from scratch at home if I can't find a place around here.

In Fairfield County your best bet is to look in Bridgeport (a.k.a. Bridgepuerto Rico).

Try El Flamboyan or Marrero both on East Main Street. You might have to wait until closer to Christmas but they will probably have them or point you to a Grandma that sells them during the holidays.
