I haven't posted a review in so long because I really haven't tried anyone new. But this past weekend I did and it's worth a write up.
After hearing about Jersey Shore Restaurant Week (and attending the fun kickoff party last Thursday at the Wonder Bar) I decided to finally give the Fromagerie a go since they were on the list.
Upon arrival, we were given the choice to sit in the bar area or the more intimate dining room. We chose the bar area since it seemed more lively and had live music. Service was top-notch. Our waiter, Brendon, I think, was knowledgable, friendly, and professional. The host, was also, excellent.
The meal started with a complimentary amuse bouche from the chef - tomato soup and grilled cheese. Both wonderful. Then we received an herb cheddar popover. Pretty good, but slightly overcooked. We also decided to have te 5 cheese plate for an appetizer, which had a nice selection.
We went with the 3 course pre-fixe. I had the shrimp carbonara, which was very good. My date had the pear and walnut salad, aslo very good.
For entrees, I went with the bronzino over broccoli rabe with pepperonata and a balsalmic reduction (I think it was). Excellently prepared, skin on, nice flavors. My date had the steak, I can't recall what kind of cut it was. It was a nice-sized steak, seasoned and cooked perfectly, with a large side of fries.
For dessert, I had a wonderful butterscotch panna cotta and my date had the chocolate lava cake. Both delectable. We also received complimentary cotton candy, which I loved.
We had one glass of wine, two beers, and one tea and the bill was just a few dollars over $100.
Overall, one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. I would not hesitate to go back there. The food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommended.

Dani, I agree with your review completely. I also decided to try Fromagerie for the Jersey Shore Restaurant Week.
Our meal started with a complimentary pate on toast from the chef, and a herb popover. We also found the popover to be less than satisfactory-- a little too chewy on the inside (not at all light and fluffy), and slightly too burnt on the outside.
My date got the French onion soup and I had the pear/walnut salad. Both excellent. The French onion soup was one of the few times at a restaurant that the chef actually uses the classic Gruyere cheese. I really dislike it when they just use regular swiss or worse, mozzarella. The broth was veal-based, I believe, not the traditional chicken or beef stock. It added a very nice flavor element.
For our entrees, I went with the bronzino-- similar to dani, it was delicious with a crispy skin. Date had the steak medium rare-- cooked perfectly with well seasoned fries.
For dessert, I had the chocolate lava cake which was perfectly cooked, and my date had the creme brulee. Creme brulee's surface was not evenly browned but taste was good and flavorful.
Meal without two non-alcoholic drinks plus a side of "shrimp and lap cheong fried rice" came to $100.

Nice review Dani. I first heard of the Formagerie from a good friend, the late "Art P." who just passed away last week. He had great stories of having dinner in their wine cellar, and how his brother used to have a wine locker there. R.I.P Art! What a character!
Do you know if they do the tasting menu every day, or is it only on the weekends, weeknights, etc? Regardless, look forward to giving it a whirl.
Also, what is their wine list like, and what is their wine pricing like? Thanks in advance! Cheers! -mJ
