groceries or take-out?
are you talking about a take-out-taxi kind of deal? they don't fit the bill?
call the places you want to order from, and ask for delivery options they may know about in the area.
(ps, not to pick a fight, but we're not all "guys").

I dunno about "anywhere", but Doctor Delivery has a whole list of restaurants in NoVa/DC area you can order from on their website.

From the looks of their website, seems they only do DC-proper and Arlington. Too bad. It'd be nice to have something like that out in the suburbs.

Just as a warning a lot of the Doctor Delivery and Take Out Taxi type places charge a pretty high surcharge for the delivery itself. So what may seem like a reasonable delivered meal ends up having $10+ tagged on.
That was my personal experience when I used them a few times years ago.
That's when I become jealous of people living in NYC, where you can get pretty much ANYTHING delivered to your front door.

You have to be reasonable about this. If you want your food to be hot when it gets to you, you don't want to have it delivered from, say, Silver Spring, unless you're looking for a place that has a matter transporter straight out of the science fiction books.
If you're looking at a restaurant within reasonable driving time that isn't served by Takeout Taxi or Dr. Delivery, you can always call a regular taxi, send them to the restaurant to pick up your food, and bring it to you. But if you're going to do that, unless you're unable, you might as well just take a taxi to the restaurant and another back home. Let them serve you and wash the dishes.

Thanks for the replies. My group at work is pressing on through the holiday.. so we wanted pollo rico (ballston) to treat ourselves. i didn't refresh before leaving.. but i got there to pick up our 5 chickens and saw that they had dr. delivery magazines on the counter. I'll know for next time

If you order enough maybe it will be considered "catering" and then they'll drop it off themselves.

Not at El Pollo Rico, they do so much business you come to them.
Dr. Delivery and Take Out Taxi are both good options.
But if you are in Arlington: Lost Dog, Thai Square and some other places have their own delivery too (for the future).
