Valrhona Chocolate MSP
Hi, just wanted to let you know that Kowalski's on Grand in St. Paul has bulk Valrhona chocolate on sale right now (50% off). I got a 1.25 lb chunk of Guanaja 70% for $10.07 (that's $7.99/lb.). I've never bought Valrhona in bulk before, but that seems like a good price to me. Maybe it's not. But in case it is a steal, wanted to share the info with you.
It's up by the registers. There was at least one other variety too (a milk chocolate). I'd guess that other Kowalskis' would have it too, but haven't confirmed that.

Haven't decided yet, but there are several cake recipes in my arsenal that call for bittersweet choc, and then the holidays are upon us . . . I shouldn' t have much trouble putting it to good use. 'Specially considering chocolate's long shelf life.
