Courtyard Jacksonville Butler Boulevard - nearby eats?

RAGHOUND Nov 10, 2009 06:06 PM

We'll be staying overnight at the Marriott Courtyard on Lenoir Avenue and are looking for some recommendations for dinner/breakfast. We're willing to drive about a 1/2 hour from the hotel. We'd like to stay away from chains and Indian food. Also would like something with a decent wine-by-the-glass offering for dinner. Hoping that some Jacksonville locals will have some good suggestions for us!

Go to Bistro AIX. I have to go to Jax tonight and I always end up there or Kickbacks

Chew, Orsay, Bistro AIX, etc... There are a ton of places, check www.EatJax.com for some reviews of local places... Good luck...

We're a couple of weeks away from heading south (hooray!). Just wondering if there are any updated recommendations from the Jacksonville folks for us?

I would definitely recommend Orsay. I have never had a disapointing meal there. that being said, and i know I will probably get grief for this, I think that Aix is overrated. It is way to "see and be seen" and the food, IMHO is not as great as it once was. Granted this is based upon one recent visit, but if you are only in town for a night, I would go for chew or orsay.

Had lunch @ X the other day just to reaffirm yours and my opinion of not so great. Place was packed and service was good, but just nothing to write home about. I guess I keep remembering that its the same owners as the Loop and the food is about as imaginative and tasty as their other endeavor.
