One great meal---anywhere between Portland and Salem

Will be driving from Portland to Salem this Saturday and would like to have a good meal (not too fancy) somewhere in Salem or the Salem area, basically I don't want to go too far past Salem so it can either be in Salem or in the area on the way to Portland.

Which state(s) are you referring to? There's definitely a Portland and Salem, CT, and there's also a Portland and Salem, ME. Both equally improbable journeys. Not to mention Salem, NH & Salem, MA.

My immediate assumption was that it was Portland ME - Salem MA, which would provide lots and lots of chow opportunities. Jamtart will need to confirm.
