Doing Carmel with the Dogs and Family over Thanksgiving need opinions/Recs
We visit Carmel about every 3 months (to see my father). Even though I lived there, and visit several times a year we have gotten stuck in a restaurant rut. We always bring the dogs with us and are constantly revisiting the following : The Forge in the Forest, Cassanova and Corkscrew Cafe, Sea Harvest, and Portabella. Then of course there is Bruno's Deli as well.
We are looking to break out of our restuarant rut but of course are limited to pet friendly establishments ( we cannot keep the dogs at the house unfortunately).
In searching I found some places we have not been that are pet friendly and was wondering if anyone could provide some feedback on them. Or, if you know of any the we have missed please do tell!

EAH, just a question. It's my understanding that "doggie friendly" means eating on the patio. This might be an iffy situation in the latter part of Nov.

Hi Gail,
Yup, you are correct, 'doggy friendly' does mean patio dining.
Historically October and November are the best weather months of the year for the coast. We are hoping this holds true thru the end of November but realize that it will be a bit chilly.

We just were there in early Nov. and I wouldn't want to eat on a patio in the evening. Maybe your best bet is to check with the restaurants on your list to see if they have patio heaters. I would think that would be a good first step. Then I could give you some recos on the ones you have left. Also, if you were planning on an afternoon T-day meal, check to see if they actually serve lunch. Some on your list do not.

Will the dogs not be all right in the car for an hour or so? Maybe you could find a dog-sitter for a couple of hours? Must be some professionals in the area..might be worth it (think of it like a babysitter fee) so you could do some more adventurous dining. They might like the change of pace as well.
