(Btw, guys, I could be wrong, but I don't think there's an "r" in Tatin; if I recall correctly, it's the family name of the ovenless sisters who supposedly invented the dish.) Another option would be a straight-up American apple pie. The Filling Station in Orange makes a pretty damn good version, and it's huge. Maybe to far out of your way though. Maybe the Apple Pan?
