Gingerbread men, without getting my head bitten off

Here's the story of my never-to-be-repeated experience buying gingerbread men for Christmas at a place that will remain unnamed lest the linkbot pick it up and make people think I'm endorsing the place:

Does anyone have a suggestion for somewhere else to get good gingerbread men without too much icing? Hollywood/Los Feliz/SFV preferred, but I'll travel if I have to ...

Hi... I've had gingerbread men from Harry & David ( at the Northridge Mall) and also from the Victor Benes in-store bakery at Gelsons (also near that Northidge Mall). The former were larger and more costly (individually wrapped) , and the latter were less expensive, but smaller and sold by the pound (or dozen). If I recall, both kinds were tasty in their own way. Perhaps call first to confirm... Oh, and I think Trader Joes sometimes sell them too, during holiday season...
