Need a place in the east 50s-60s for cheap but great dinner
Looking for a great place to take my mom in the near-vicinity of the Pod Hotel (east 51st/3rd)...ideally entrees don't exceed $20. Any picks?

felice is a nice simple italian meal. 65th and 1st
there is also cabana near bloomies; portions are huge..

Luna Piena on 53rd is pretty good for pastas. Most of their pastas are generous and tend to run in the 13-17 range. The wines are marked up pretty high though.
Another option, it never hurts to ask a bartender in the neighborhood or even someone who works at the Pod.
