Red line seafood for the bluefish-obsessed?

My brother is visiting Boston from Australia and I am trying hard to get him to go somewhere other than Legal Seafood for a change. He is obsessed with bluefish, and he won't stray far from the red line. i've been told that bluefish season is over, so the super-fresh places aren't offering it. The bluefish on the Legal menu must be frozen.

Any suggestions? Substitutions for bluefish so great he won't complain? Thank you -

hungry mother does a fantastic bluefish prep, though i don't know if they are still doing it. that's not too far off the red line (kendall). plus, it's just a generally fantastic restaurant.

I saw fresh buefish at the Legal market in Chestnut Hill last Friday.

Could always head to the Alewife end of the red line and hit the Summer Shack. Easy walk from the T.

There's plenty of fresh bluefish coming out of the Mid Atlantic right now. Legal is getting just as fresh bluefish right now as they do in the summer.

There's also a ton of fresh mackerel around right now which IMHO tastes just as good.

check and see if summer shack on the alewife station has blue fish now.
