Best Gringo Tacos?

Hi all,

My girlfriend is mildly obsessed with 'gringo tacos' lately- crisp shell, greasy ground beef, sour cream, salsa, shredded lettuce... just like the school cafeteria used to make.

Any good places in Brooklyn or Manhattan that can provide these wonderously bad delicacies? What with people wanting actual, quality Mexican food, it seems that this has become a much harder dish to find than you might suspect.

the kits in the mexican section of any local market will fill the bill (and anyone else) all you need to do is choose the fat content of your ground beef . have a huge party and just add even more toppings, the goal used to be to eat 12 (long ago)

Lobo - in Cobble Hill or Park Slope has crispy tacos. They're a step up from the cafeteria - but not much! They'll do wonders for a hangover, however.

I've only had hard tacos at taco bell.
I did a search on yelp for "hard tacos" and this is what I got
