OFF SEASON DEWEY/REHOBOTH: what's open/ladies weekend?

b
bluepig1 Nov 9, 2009 08:29 AM

We'll be a group of 6 ladies (early 30s) having a girls weekend this weekend. We'll have fun but we're not looking for a rowdy bachelorette experience (it's not a b-rette party). We're staying in Dewey but willing to drive up to Rehoboth. We're looking for:

a) casual dinner Friday
b) nice dinner Saturday
c) fun bar option Saturday night -
Our group has various tastes (some more chowhound-y than others) and as long as there's a variety on the menu (mixture of meat or seafood, at least 1 veggie option) we should be ok.

Researching on the boards so far I've come up with a few options but I think a lot of the recommendations I've seen are actually closed now for the season. Here are a few of the ones we're considering that appear to be open:

a) El Dorado for casual tacos/burritos. Go Fish! fish & chips. Big Fish Grill.

b) Eden, Nage, Espuma, Lupo di Mare or Blue Moon.

c) no ideas yet.

Any adds/deletes/other opinions about this list?

Thanks!

bluepig1, You have made great selections!
El Dorado is a very simple little storefront restaurant where you order at the counter and take a seat. Their fish and shrimp tacos are absolutely delicious. The condiments are made fresh daily.
The Cultured Pearl would be fun for a group of ladies.
Big Fish is one of our favorites in the area.
Fins has a wonderful Happy Hour. You must add Fins to your list for dinner or bar options!
I think a group of ladies would love The Porcini House.

For C, you must think about stopping by Dogfish Head Brewery when in Rehoboth!
I understand the bar at The Purple Parrot is a great time.
The new Bethany Blues on the highway has a very beautiful bar.

bluepig1, Consider making the short drive to Lewes during the weekend. Lewes is so beautiful and I know a group of ladies would enjoy the Second Street experience. Agave is very popular. I adore Half Full and Azafran. Lunch at Kindle would be nice and their bar is lovely. Beseme has a lovely bar too! Lewes has a new Irish Eyes on the canal and although the food is nothing special the view is nice and their bar on the porch is a lot of fun.
The weekends here are still very busy for our restaurants so be prepared for dinner crowds. I hope you and your friends have an excellent time!
